Unique Barrel Program

We have a fantastic barrel exchange program. When your barrels become empty, we exchange them for full ones. The barrels are brought back to our facility, cleaned and then refilled to prevent contamination. You, the customer, pay a one time deposit per barrel. Upon ending the program, you will receive your deposit back according to the quantity of barrels you return.

Elk Grove Milling, Inc. packages its finished products in various forms. We offer 50# bags, 55-gallon barrels containing 250# of pellets. Our barrel program is unique due to the fact that no one else packages feed this way. These barrels can be mixed with your regular bag product to make up your 4-ton minimum (8 barrels makes up 1 ton).

The 55-gallon drums come in two styles, varied solid colors (open mouth) and the black barrel (twist top). The open mouth barrel is the standard size with the tops cut out and the twist top barrel is slightly narrower and taller with a smaller mouth but comes with a screw on top. For ease of handling, most feed stores prefer twist top barrels.

Due to Elk Grove Milling’s pelleting process, our pelleted feeds are “Certified Weed Free” by the state of California Department of Food and Agriculture. Our feeds are welcome by the Federal parks, BLM land and the US Forest Service lands. If there are weed seed particles in the pellets, they are non-viable, thus preventing the spread of toxic weeds.
